Is there a maximum number of OER/ZTC hours I can log per week for compensation?

For full-time faculty, the answer to this question is no there is no limit.  However, it should not be hours counted for other compensation.

For part-time faculty, the answer is a bit more complicated.  Adjunct faculty are limited to no more than a total of 25 service hours per week. If they have a teaching assignment the week they are working on OER, then they have to factor in 1.0 hour for in class and 1.0 hour for out-of-class to get the correct number of hours.

Calculating Hours

For example, let’s say that they are teaching one class that meets 4.0 hours per week. They would need to include the hours as follows:

4.0 hours for instruction

4.0 hours for class preparation/grading

With a maximum of 25 hours (-8 hours for that class that week), they could only work for 17 hours on the ZTC project.

However, if they have no other assignments in that particular week, they can spend the full 25 hours on ZTC.
